    DSS strongly opposes customs like the dowry system and other social ills. It discourages the superficial rituals and unreasonable expenditure related to births, deaths and marriages. At the Satsangs conducted by DSS, marriages are conducted in the presence of the Sadh-Sangat in a simple manner by exchanging garlands.

    The cardinal rules of DSS are to not eat non-vegetarian food, to not consume alcohol, and for men and women to consider persons other than their spouses as either mother, sister or daughter, or father, brother or son.

    DSS believes in earning one’s livelihood through hard work and rightful means. The celibate volunteers of the Dera work for 15 to 18 hours a day and they practice meditation. It is only by earning one’s bread through rightful means that one gets peace of mind and makes rapid progress in spirituality.

On 8th August 2010, 43,732 units of blood were donated on a single day, creating a new record in The Guinness Book of World Records. The sole purpose of these camps is to help humanity. We supply 600 to 1000 units of blood to India Defense on a monthly basis.

This is why working for the welfare of others is an act of great virtue in spirituality.     This is such a place where one can be surprised to see the dedication of a human being to have the feeling of serving the mankind.The followers of Dera Sacha Sauda leaves no opportunity to help the needy. It may be anything as in making houses for the poor, getting a widow re-married, saving the people from drugs and various other harmful deeds.
